President and General Manager of Jamul Casino®, Mary Cheeks, is an industry veteran with 30 years of experience in casino management and casino finance. Ms. Cheeks joined the Jamul Casino team in May 2018, initially tasked with helping lead the team through an ownership transition and re-branding. In a few short months, the casino was officially rebranded, and she had recruited a world-class management team, optimizing the skills of existing team members and supplementing with additional talent. Her strong leadership and passion for delivering the best guest experience serves as an inspiration to her team. She also works closely with the community to ensure the casino is a welcome presence and a good corporate citizen in Jamul.

Ms. Cheeks has a proven track record of developing sound business strategies and comprehensive goals for performance and growth. Throughout her three decades in the gaming industry, she has been responsible for the financial management of facilities with revenue in excess of $1.2 billion; established outstanding community relations with numerous jurisdictions and stakeholders; and used her strategy, market analysis, marketing campaigns, identification of key business opportunities with associated risk, and strategic alliances to ensure a property’s success.
Prior to bringing her leadership to Jamul Casino, Mary Cheeks held senior level roles in the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York gaming markets. Most recently, she was General Manager for Rivers Casino & Resort in Schenectady, NY, one of four new casino licenses outside of Tribal Gaming and Racinos. At this property, her policies, vision, and the company culture she helped create achieved the highest customer service scores of all Rush Street Gaming entities. Ms. Cheeks initially joined Rush Street Gaming in 2010 as Senior Vice President of Finance for SugarHouse Casino in Philadelphia and Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. She also served as Regional Chief Financial Officer of Harrah’s Atlantic City & Showboat Casino, where she had a pivotal role in transforming the Atlantic City, New Jersey casino into a resort that became one of the most profitable gaming establishments in Atlantic City.
Ms. Cheeks earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting at the College of New Jersey in Trenton, New Jersey.
